Venders will be allowed to set up the day before, on the 24th. Venders/Volunteers will also be able to spend the night in their RV’s/trailers/tents at no cost, next to their booths. Electrical is available, but not for free. You will need to let me know ahead of time if you will be needing electrical.

Venders and Volunteers, if you would like to have a BBQ the night of the 24th let me know, I will be there and I am planning on camping out, so if anyone else would like to let me know.

We are also adding a waterfowl swap meet, if you have waterfowl product sitting around that you do not use any more bring it as long as it has something to do with bird hunting.

Guys I do not want this to be out of control. I am trying to put together a lay out of the events and booths, so can I get some of this info ASAP??

Mike
It sounds to me that you need to have an actual meeting instead of trying to organize this on the 'net. Kind of like a comittee.

Please don't move this thread to the campfire or start other threads. It just makes a mess of the whole process. Keep it here. Those that want to know will read the thread. If you want to just confuse the hell out of everybody, spread it out over several threads in several forums. That way we have to read 4x the posts and try and guess who is replying to what.

JHO will have 1 10x10 EZUP and some static displays on 2 quads for Mad Dog ATV gear. Maybe a duckboat static display, still working on that.

I've done all I can to get this thing rolling. Calling sponsors, printing and handing out flyers, checking the area for an idea what it has to offer, etc. Now some folks need to step up and help out and take some of the load. As far as meetings, I really don't have time to sit in L.A. traffic going to needless meetings when the same can be accomplisted with phone calls and coordination here. It's what a cell phone and the Internet are for. If some people need meetings, knock yourself out. With folks scattered all over SoCal I'm sure the meetings will be well attended.

Is it okay to solicit other local vendors, or organizations ??
And if so, who should I have them contact (which #)?

Marty, any vendors as long as they have some tie in with waterfowl or upland hunting.

I'll be camping out Sat night so the BBQ is a good idea for the venders to meet and interact.

The swap meet idea is great. Like the ski swap meets every year in the parking lots at Oshman's, REI etc.

For a raffle, since we don't have raffle tickets printed up yet let's do it like the Turkey Tune Up. Every person coming in gets a raffle tickets and we draw names all day long or at a set time like 2pm. I've got some generic raffle tickets from Wally World we can use.

Talked to Pete at Dogtra. They don't have the people to do a vendor booth but he is checking on some items to sponsor the contests with.

Still working on Tri-Tronics and MOJO Decoys.

The Widgeon Whacker, widgnwhacker, Jesse I know you said they are donating, but are they going to have a booth??? It only takes a Table and an ez-up and some product. (just a table you don’t even need a ez-up)[/b]

Not sure if I will be able to attend, but I will donate some lanyards to the event. Give me a shipping address and a date that you need them by.

Thanks for the call D

Is there a time table set yet? Something like a schedule of events?

Jesse, are there specific things that you want photo'd? If you want me to send you an email for specifics, I can do that also.

Here it is guys (just got the OK from Jesse... until the PDF is posted you can email me for the complete rules). I set this is up so we can all have a fun day of shooting and also make it a family affair.

We will need someone to run the Skeet Competition for the advance guys.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

SoCal Waterfowl Day Trap Competition...

Open to all skill levels. But we encourage the beginners and intermediate to join. There will be a safety seminar and an introduction to shooting trap.

Two person teams. Skill levels will be separated as best as possible before the draw. Teams will be made up of a blind draw system. Each team is guaranteed two shoots (of 25 clays). Two qualifying rounds. The best 8 scores will move on to semifinals, quarterfinals and then the finals.

$12 per competitor... each competitor will receive a "SoCal Waterfowl Day Trap" T-Shirt and guaranteed two qualifying rounds of shooting. (Big discount reg. price for trap is $7 and T-Shirts $15... you get all this for $12).

Sign-ups will start at 10:am / seminar at 11:am / warm-ups through out the day / competition starts at 1:pm.

Levels:
** Adult and youth 16 & under (ex. father & son, mother & son, father & daughter, etc.,)
** Co-Ed (self explanatory... team made up of a male and a female)
Open Class (all skill levels, age and sex).

** This will be considered a set team and rule #3 will not apply.

ODP I will be taking volunteers. I am thinking about stopping by Prado tomorrow to drop off the new flyers and go on a walk through to see how many people I will need.

Someone does need to step up and take control of the Skeet section.

Rules:

1. To have fun! This is geared more for beginners and for those who just wants to shoot.
Those looking for real competition... join the Skeet competition.
2. Please be honest about your skill level when signing up!
3. Competitors will draw numbers to determine their team-mates. This is done so it will
encourage all skill levels to participate.
4. Single shot per shooter and each team will be allowed a maximum of 30 shells.
5. Scoring will be based on:
Clay Hits*... 2 points for each clay hit (max. 50 points)
Unused Shells... 2 points for any unused shells. (max. 10 points)
Bonus points for... 20 clays hits (5 points)... 25 (10 bonus points)

* Determined by breakage caused by gunshot and not by machine or the ground.

6. Handicapping will be adjusted through out the competition to equalize varying skill levels. There will be a panel of 3 judges to determine how many shells each shooter will get. Each team will have a total of 30 shells. Skill level will determine how many shells each shooter will be allowed to carry for each round.
7. All participants must wear safety glasses.
8. Participants must provide their own ammo. Gun rentals are available and ammo is sold in the Prado Olympic Shooting Park store.
9. In case of a tie: tie breaker will be 1. total clays broken. 2. total unused shells.
