Actually now that I look more closely his tail is pretty strait. But does coloration make any difference in determining their orgin?

The only way to determine the lineage is through a DNA test. It's highly unlikely that there are any pure-strain, Eurasian Boar running wild in CA anymore. The ferals demonstrate different traits, some showing more of the eurasian and others trending more toward the domestic, but there's no real way to determine "how much" feral vs eurasian the animal has.
