I went out coyote hunting yesterday afternoon. Midway through some location calls / howls I spot a white speck moving across the valley from me. I was positioned halfway up a hillside that over looked a draw and grassy slope.
Anyway, I look at it through my binos and low and behold its an Antelope buck. I watch him for a little bit and it would appear that his horns are taller then his ears. Which makes him legal in Nevada. After studying him for a little while I start scanning the rest of the hillside. About 100 yards from the first buck, is another one.
This Antelope Buck is considerably larger then the first one. His horns appear to be about twice the size of the other one. As I study him I realize that the horns appear to have decent mass and are tall enough to look as though they could be 'folded' down past his nose. However, when he turns to face me, the width was not quite as wide as his ears, say about half way through the ears and forming a slight V shape.
Bassed on my general description, what kind of a buck would you say it is? A nice one in my opinion. But, do you think it could be a possible record buck?
This area is about 8 miles from my house in Sparks. Now if I can only draw a damn NV Antelope tag for next year.
