No word yet. Maybe we can start looking soon. Late May early June the snow should be gone. The forum members should plan a weekend checking the area.

Whats up guys? Are we going to put together a search or what? Can we see if his family has heard anything and if not let's get a trip going? Does anyone want to take this by the reigns and run with it?

I'll check with the Forest Service Police and post what they tell me. May take me a couple of days.

I checked with Sierra National Forest Police, they still have no information. Sounds like he is still up there somewhere..

I hope he wasn't shot and killed by them idiotic marijuana cultivators. After reading about numerous encounters from this site and others, it got me thinking. I really hope his body is found soon so there can be a closure to this long awaited situation.

Dragging this back to the top, one more time. Hope you guys are all safe out there this year. Newborn twins prevent me from getting anytime away this year, but, I'll be thinking about you all and keeping tabs.

Does anyone have any intentions of hunting the area where this chap went missing? If so, keep a sharp eye out and post back anything you think might help.

Good Luck Hunters!!

Can someone post up where his vehicle was parked and where they think he was last.

A map would be great, and names of the area. I will be up there at least two weekends and several otehr family members will be in the general area for a much longer time period.

We hunt Dinkey, Bald Mtn., Shuteye, North Fork and some others.

Thanks
Dan

It's getting a little harder to track the old posted info these days. There was a post on 7/29/09 by Huntingbret ("Search is on for lost hunter") that repeated info from the Fresno Bee about the SAR team training and looking for him again. They focused on the area near where his truck was found: near the intersection of forest roads 10S66 and 10S31 right near Exchequer Meadow. That is east of Dinkey Creek just about where the Swamp Lake 4wd road starts. If I recall correctly his truck was found just west of the intersection, just west of the gate which gets locked at times.

On page 5 of this thread is post #139 which has a jpg image of the google map of where his truck was found. I think someone actually posted an image of the forest map with the gps coordinates last year also, but I can't find it. But basically Exchequer Meadow is where his truck was found.

Hope this helps you deadducks.

The coordinates were listed in post 121. All it really says is:
his truck was found in the vicinity of latitude: 37° 4'30.21"N and longitude: 119° 6'40.85"W
