Taxidermy exhibit set at refuge

TULELAKE — Internationally recognized master taxidermist Stefan Savides will be the guest exhibitor at the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges Visitor Center and features a peregrine falcon, California quail, white-fronted geese, a Canada goose family, a mother wood duck and a brood of ducklings, a purple gallinule and two black-billed magpies.

The refuge visitors center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and is located 5 miles west of Tulelake at 4009 Hill Road.

Savides was awarded the Master of Masters designation for bird taxidermy at the World Taxidermy Championships in 1999 and is the taxidermist of choice for Cabela's Inc. for mounts shown in stores and traveling collections. His work can be found at http://www.aviandesign.com.
