Should we make the check out for $450 and hope we don't have to chip in another $50 at registration or vise versa?

Hey Mark and everyone...

Yes, please make your checks out for $450 per hunter. We'll know by January 12 if we have enough hunters. If necessary, we'll just bring the extra $50 down to Tejon with us...unless I hear differently from Barbara in the meantime.

Dan, yours didn't go out until the end of last week, so you should be seeing it sometime today or tomorrow. I'm flying to NC tomorrow night, but shoot me an email if you don't have it by tomorrow's mail and we'll try to get you squared away.

Hunt-crazy, yours should also be along directly.

Everyone else should have received your packets already. If you requested on and did not receive it yet, please email me ASAP, so that I can get another one out to you.

Just a reminder, fellas.

Deadline for getting your application packets back to me is 1/14, that's a week from Monday.

As of right now, we're gonna be real close to making that 25 hunter minimum. I expect us to come up short. If you have friends or family who'd like to join you on this hunt, then by all means make a copy of the app packet and get it to them. If you need an application packet, then email me right away as per the instructions at the top of the forum.

The checks are in the mail, 7 down 18 more to go. Should be a great trip w/ or w/o 25 guys. Trying to think if I'd rather save $50, or have the place to ourselves. Times a wasting fellas, get r done!

$500 a pig!
Is it possible that someone can talk to the person in charge of El Tejon to bring the prices down so more hunters can come?
There's a lot of us first time pig hunters that we like to participate if prices were more affordable!
Just a thought!

$450 - $500 is actually a pretty good price in the market right now. Since most of the Tejon Pig-o-Ramas are selling out at that price, odds of getting much of a break are slim to none.

I see where you're coming from, but as of right now that's about as good a deal as you'll find anywhere for a two and a half day hunt on premium private land.

Is this price for one pig only?
Are you allowed to kill more than one pig, I say maybe two, and how much more is the extra piggy?
Are any trophy fees?
Thanks!

The POR hunts are for one pig. Additional pigs are not allowed on these events.

No trophy fees. 400lbs w/4" teeth or 100 lb sow, it's all the same.

The extra gas money you save by not driving up North would outweigh the extra savings of going somewhere else. You also have to tip on a guided hunt and usually depending on the success you get your pig fairly early in the hunt and you're done. Hanging out w/ the crew on one of these hunts is worth its weight in gold as far as the experience and information you can gain from hanging out w/ veteran pig hunters who know Tejon. I would do a search regarding these hunts and then reconsider the cost factor. There aren't many hunts that allow free reign of approximately 110,000 acres with the chance of hunting for 2 1/2 days w/ no trophy fees. Plus you'll have plenty of help w/ processing your pig back at camp if your not well versed at it. Your talking a 45 minute drive from the SFV. I've been there 5 or 6 times now and have had an opportunity on every trip. The times I didn't bring anything home I had just a good of time watching my buddies bring home prok. Just being on that property is worth the 450-500.
