I heard recently about two different bucks taken in Utah that score over 90. One was taken around Price by a woman. Has anyone else heard anything about these bucks? If this is true we know one thing - the drought didn't do a darn thing as far as horn growth goes. We've got 90's coming from everywhere. New world record in AZ. New state record in UT. I also heard of two 90's taken in NM, but don't have any details.

Hello Grail,

I haven't heard of the two 90s out of Utah.

As far as the drought and horn growth, I hear the muley and elk hunters saying the antelers aren't as big this year but it appears the antelope haven't been bothered.

Would you call this a banner year for record lopes or just a good year?

Utah would be a closer drive for me than Wyoming.

Well, the way it looks right now, if all the rumors pan out, this is the greatest season since 1984.
So far these are the bucks I've heard about:

AZ - 95 0/8, 89+, 88 6/8
UT - 90+, 90+
NM - 93 0/8, 90+, 90+
NV - 87+

And that's just 4 states! I'm sure other people have heard something, too. The 95 0/8, 93 0/8, and the 88 6/8 have all been confirmed as far as I know. And I know not all the 90's that were roaming AZ were taken. I can't wait 'til next year.

Hey, I just noticed the new banner has an antelope in it. And it's a decent one! Sweet!

How hard is it to draw a tag in Utah? I doubt if I'll ever draw another Az tag!

In 2001:

South Slope Bonanza Diamond Mtn. - 17% (5/29) for NR

San Rafael - 4% (3/79) for NR

Book Cliffs Cisco - 10% (2/21) for NR

Nine Mile Anthro - 20% (2/10) for NR

In 1988 the state record (89 4/8) was killed in the Bonanza Hills. And about drawing another tag in Arizona...you're probably right. I know I'm not holding my breath, and I even put in for archery!
