I live in Southern California.

I started hunting ducks about 18 years ago, at a club near the Salton Sea. I was taught by the man who taught me how to fly fish, hes in his 90's now but still goes with us on occasion. My dad is now my hunting partner.

I love watching the ducks work and working my dog.

I love my beretta AL390 Ive shot alot of ducks with it.

My dream hunt is in Canada.

I am revitalizing the Placentia-Yorba Linda Ducks Unlimited Chapter trying to do my part for the resource.

Grew up in New York. Started hunting down in the Chesapeake area on North Bay with my father and brother starting when I was 12. Hunted in California for the first time last year. Did some trips to the Kern and the lower Colorado and I am looking forward to going back to those place this year. Also shot flooded timber for the first time in Arkansas when I drove back East for the holidays. Hopefully going to the Klamath this fall.

Hi all! I'm JK from Bakersfield and have lived here most of my 38 years. I've been hunt'n and fish'n for as long as I remember. I mostly hunt the Kern and sometimes spoiled by my bud's club(Spoonyville). I love to jump-shoot and have probably driven by every single drop of water with'n 2 hours of town.I use a Bretta X-Trema on anything with feathers (I guess Coyote's don't count) with preferably 3" #3's. My favorite bird to hunt are Wigeon but can't beat a drake Wood duck in the hand. I've been doing bird taxidermy for 10 plus years (WINGED EXPRESSIONS) and wildlife art before the taxidermy. I was always given a hard time by my early friends on how much I loved birds and watching them. My dream hunt is Argentina with my WIFE (it will happen!). That's right, my wife! Shoot the Drake's not the Hen's.

How about some introductions?
%3C

Where are you from & where do you hunt waterfowl?

Who taught you to hunt waterfowl and when?

What is your favorite duck or goose to hunt?

What is you favorite shotgun?

What would be your dream waterfowl hunt?

I grew up in Missouri hunting the flooded timber and mallards. We also jump shot snows and honkers in the crop fields in teh snow a lot. My Dad didn't duck hunt and my one uncle who did duck hunt died when I was a kid so I learned from a couple buddies who I ran the rivers with.

I'm still lugging around my old Rem 870 pump.

Mallards were my favorite in Missouri but living here in SoCal has turned me into a sprig fan almost because of their wariness. Honkers were my fave geese but those specs really seem hard to fool.

My dream hunt would be to hunt Arkansas where Nash Buckingham hunted or a Canadian early season honker hunt.
I was born and raised in Redding Ca.

I hunt some of the refuges around here but most of the places that I hunt, I DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHERE. Duckhunting spots spread like wildfire in this part of California and next thing ya know, there is 1000-2000 people hunting your honey hole.

My good friend Dave took another friend and myself duckhunting about 5 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. I think that we got 1 wood duck, 3 widgeon, 1 gadwall and a couple of mallards and we thought that was tons of birds for 3 guys at the time.

I would have to say that widgeon is my favorite duck to hunt because I have had hunts where widgeon deek up by the 20's and 30's. Who doesn't like killing a few greenheads though? Favorite goose is honker.....they taste good.

My favorite gun would have to be the Benelli SBE lefty. I was raised on a Remington semi-auto but got sick of getting powder in the eyes shooting lefty.

I would like to do a flooded timber hunt for some mallards and watch them drop straight down with their wings locked up.

For as long as I've been here, I'm surprised I haved filled this out. My name is Ethan and I live in Homer, Alaska. I am originally from Long Beach, California and hunted Wister and Kern a whole lot with plenty of good hunts at both. Was also a member of a private duck club very close to the Kern Refuge.

My choice of scatterguns is my Beretta Extrema 2. It's knocked down quite a few ducks and geese and I've had no problems with it in my 3 years of owning it.

I can't say that I have a favorite duck, as I like being out there for whatever. The style of hunting that I have grown to enjoy is sea duck hunting. It's action packed the birds decoy easy, no calling needed and the plumage of some of those critters is absolutely amazing.

My dream hunt would be to go out to the Aleutians and hunt the King Eiders and perhaps get a common eider in there as well.

i grew up in Bakersfield, CA when i was 11 i move to a duck club in Wasco, Ca. That was the first year that i had ever hunted. My uncle and grandfather were members of the club that i lived on so i got to hunt the club every once in a while. it was a pretty good club. as i grew older i would sneak out on non shoot days and have a little fun of my own while there was no one around. it was then that i was hooked. i have hunted ducks and geese from then on. not much for big game mostly birds. My uncle started taking me to Kern National Wildlife Refuge and teaching me how to call an when to shoot and when not to. he was a great teacher. we do get to hunt togather every fews years now. it is my turn to tech him. he has always been an over and under shooter so as am i. i shoot cheap guns though. right now its a Stoeger Condor Supreme. its an ok gun but would love to have a Browning Cenergy. to much $$$$. one day i would love to go to Arkansas and hunt some flooded timber. if anyone would like to trade a hunt for a hunt let me know.

I'm Kansas raised and live in a dry barren area :)

Hunt mostly at a small man made lake.

At the age of 30 a co-worker and myself had the idea that to try duck hunting would be something different. So we bought 4 duck decoys and headed out to a small farm pond to try our luck. And as luck would have it we did get one duck each that afternoon, but found we had no way to get them from the water nor a way to get our decoys back. So being young and bullet proof, we ran back to town and brought back a old truck tube. Yeah. I floated out to get the two ducks and the 4 decoys on the tube using a snow shovel as a paddle.

Anyways, over 15 years later we still duck hunt and enjoy every min of it. Between the both of us, I am sure we can count out many dozen duck decoys and about the same in goose. Times do change and these days safety is always top on our list.

I think duck hunting is top on my list of things to do. We talk it all year long and always work on ideas to make the hunt better.

Have been using the same gun all this time, Browning BPS. Gosh I love that gun :)

Well, Hope every one enjoys the hunt and the scenery that God has given us.

My name is Moses. I'm from Riverside. I'm going duck hunting for my first hunt this Saturday at Raahague's in Corona, CA with a buddy from work. He's a long time hunter, so I feel fortunate to have him showing me the ropes. I can't wait to get out. I'll be using my Remington 870 pump. I've been wanting to try hunting for years and I can't wait to finally try it out.

A Red Necked SlopeHeaded Okie Here!

I hunt most all over the State of Oklahoma. Luv to BOAT HUNT as we got a lot of Public Water on a lot of lakes of all sizes.

My GrandMother taugt me to shoot and how to Jump Shoot Ponds around or farm. Taught me how to clean and cook'em also.

I shot a Rem 870 for many years and then got off on a Browning Gold Semi and a couple of years ago changed out to a Franchi I-12. Been look'n over the Baretta Extrema lately and am feel'n a bit Froggy over it?

My favorite hunt'n is out of a boat. Next up is POND SHOOTS. We...that being myself and 4 other Old Farts have lined up a BUNCH of PRIVATES in an area that lies in what would be considered South Central Oklahoma. We don't shoot it unless we can DRIVE DOWN NEXT TO THE WATER toss out the gear and then sit down in our Bank BLind Chairs! NO TOUGH HUMPS IN and OUT for us!

Got into rais'n and train'n my own perosnal Duck Dogs and to turn out a few to sell a few years back. Spent almost two years with a Old School Pro Trainer and he damn near WORE ME OUT. I figured out real quick that to be a true Pro and make a live'n out of it meant A LOT OF HARD WORK! That convinced me to keep in on a smaller scale and do it more for my own personal gratification than money. THAT WORKED!

I keep busy in the off season by Train'n and Run'n my own and other's Duck Dogs. Also stay busy keep'n up the personal Duck Hunting and Dog Train'n web site. NOT as fancy as this one but it works for me and the guys I run with.

Just glad to have woke up this morning and able to stand up and not be laid out in a damn box!
