Who knows CO antelope

I've just started accumulating antelope points in CO. I'd like to hunt somewhere in the NW portion of the state. What are some good units with lots of public land and how many points might it take me to draw? I'd rifle or archery hunt but would want to make sure there would be lots of opportunity if I were to bow hunt. Thanks.

I have heard around Moffet there is suppose to be a decent amount of Antelope with some good cover. Not 100% sure on the units.

A buddy of mine has been antelope hunting in SE Colorado, East of Trinidad, for the last couple of years. He's had good luck and has taken one every year he's hunted.

I know a thing or two about hunting those Prairie Carp.

If you want to hunt them in the Northwest, you better have a lot of points. I have 9 points and thats still not enough. Thats why I went knocking on doors and now will be getting 7 landowner vouchers this year to use and trade for elk hunts.

If you go archery hunting, its OTC on most of the eastern plains units, and with the drought we're starting off with this year, waterhole hunting should be very good.

Are those NW tags that hard to draw even for archery? I have a tough time interpreting the drawing stats on the DOW website but it looks like there are some units you can draw with one or two points. Am I way off?

Even the archery tags are pretty difficult in a lot of the Northwest GMU's. But if you wonder to the east side of I-25 they are pretty much all OTC units and the Ranchers hate them! Getting access on the plains is very easy (free).

I got access to over 15,000 (combined) acres in just one evening of knocking on doors in one GMU close to Colorado Springs. Got a couple of Landowners to sign up for Landowner tags too in a 3 point draw area, so that I can hunt there every year. Like I said, they flat out hate antelope on the east side

How many Preference points do you have? Many of the NW units take a lot to draw.
