After drawing nothing so far this year my last hope was WY antelope and I drew. The odds were good so I'm not that surprised, but I am excited. I will be taking my old man on this hunt. He's never been on a big game hunt. He got me started hunting as a kid with dove and quail hunts once or twice a year so it will be cool to have the tables turned. He's taking my .270 and I'll attempt it with the bow for at least the first couple days. Might be tough to sneak in close with hunter orange on though.

I have a black and white cow decoy that I bet would work and you shouldn't be at risk of being shot at behind one.
Nate, I'll be taking my son this fall and I have a few questions, maybe you can help. I posted my question in the Wyoming hunting forum.

Congrats on the tags Nate. Two buddies and I drew good antelope tags also. It will be my 1st time antelope hunting. Gonna give em heck on our way back from our CO muzzy elk hunt. Also drew a NV archery tag. Still waiting on Idaho results. Looking like another busy year! Good luck to you and you're dad.

Nice Don, good luck to you too. You will be busy. The hardest thing about antelope hunting is finding the right one. Get there a couple days early to see what kind of potential the area has. The quality can vary a lot from unit to unit. A big goat in one might be a dink in another unit. They are a lot of fun to hunt and if taken care of (cooled quickly) are my favorite game animal to eat.

Good luck Nate and everyone else that drew. I finally drew an area 94 buck tag. Been hunting this property for 4 years and he's got some awesome bucks. Hoping I can put one on the ground,

Scott

SDHNTR,
Way to go. You'll have lots of fun. My wife got me a hunt in Gillette last year for Antelope. It was a 50th Bday gift. I took the buck in my avatar at 40 yds and he dropped in his spot. I then harvested a Doe the next morning. It was a great hunt, saw lots of game to choose from. I t can be hard to judge them.
The outfitter told me to wait for a good buck. But the 1st morning 5 bucks I had past on. But in the evening I filled my tag. He made P&Y minimum 69. I'm happy anyways for a 1st buck
