I'm asning for information on NE Wyoming. I'm looking for an area with public ground access and a chance to harvest a buck. I'm not looking for big buck just a buck. This will be my first time for antelope. After reading all the hunt reports and such it has really got my interest peeked to hunt these speedsters. I'm sorta looking at hunt area 18, area 7, and area 29. Any one hunt these areas? It looks like all three areas have access to public land and should be pretty good hunting. I plan on hunting the second or third week of October. I will be hunting with my oldest son, my brother in law and his only son. We're all experienced hunters, safe and ethical. We're not road hunters, we're hunters. We expect this hunt to be spot and stalk to within range. We're just looking to have some fun and harvest an animal or two. '
Thanks for the help.

Hunted unit 7 this year, all 3 tagged out, from 13.5" to a heavy 15". You need to spend at least a day scouting, and do not plan on hunting close to any roads, as there is heavy road pressure. Once a mile off the roads, we had a piece of BLM land to ourselves, took all three there, over two hunting days. I think any unit would be OK, as there are lots of lopes, but size and hunting pressure make a difference. Earlier would be better, as they are still chasing does, and moving around more. Saw 5 different shooter bucks on our area, biggest was with some does, rest were looking and moving.

Thank you for the reply and the advise. Please email me at the following address. tdunlap@centurytel.net so I can ask you some follow up questions. I'm not asking for the location of your hunting spot, I would just like to ask some general questions about area 7.
