I drew area 93, same as last year, my family has always hunted opening day and I was recently told that later in the season is actually better for killing a big buck. I find this hard to believe, does anybody have experience with this?

On my last hunt in WY hunting area 52 I spoke to the game warden for the area and he told us that the biggest bucks tend to be by themselves or with a very small herd up near the trees in areas you expect to find a deer rather than an antelope. After the early crowd has shot their wad the pressure is much less later in the season and the bigger boys come down (weather plays a role in this also). That's just my

from what I've heard. I was also told the same thing from a NV bio and we followed his leads to a 15" buck for my old man. He got him in a very steep area more suited for mulies. Good luck!

I've hunted antelope quite a bit in unit 93 and let me tell you, opening day is the best! Lots of people ask me this and if it was a harder to draw unit that is managed for trophy antelope then I would say it doesn't matter, but unit 93 is managed for quantity rather than quality. if you want to find a good speedgoat the first few days are the best. Also the antelope are less spooky, hell right now the antelope in 93 are spooky and its only July. I would go with opening day if I was you. Just my 2 cents
