Having trouble reading I see. Maybe a pair of new glasses will be under your tree.

QuackAssassin, sweeeeeeet!

Wrong again my friend, new filler between his ears in order, glasses no help

This post shows your pure ignorance of the .308 round and probably hunting in general.

You are being really nice to him. He shows complete ignorance in all topics all over this forum, the only thing he is not ignorant is his ignorance. In this aspect he is very consistent and efficient.

Geez, being called out like this is really embarrassing. What can I say, obviously you got me.

In most hands a semi auto .308 is more accurate than a bolt action due to the significantly reduced recoil of the AR platform (and R25) but that is merely my opinion.

Nice, 308 is my go to round these days, it will handle anything up to a moose. Picked a bullet yet?

My biggest complaint with an AR-10 style rifle is the weight. Any idea what the weight is on that?

The weight punishes you on long treks for sure . I haven't got an exact weight. Have yet to pick a bullet I like. I actually am lookin on getting new glass for it but am saving for a new home so it'll probably be a little till that comes as well as shoot it again.

Definitely nice looking rig. The only concern i have that the bipod is attached to the end of the barrel. I had similar setup on one of my rifles and when engaging it the POI shifted about 6-8 inches up at 100 yards compared to position when i supported it with send bags in the receiver area. have you tried to compare?

Looks very cool, though not my cup of tea. 308 is a great & very versitile round which I often wish I had instead of a 30-06.

Noticed the huge muzzle break; what make & model? (thinking about one for my Weathery Vanguard).

In my limited shooting experience the bipod on the barrel isn't the best way. Noticed it myself that when I kept the barrel free I had better consistancy in my groups (4 to 5 inches verses 2 to 3 at 200 yards).

You are infinitely better off with a 30-06 than a .308 and so would QuackA be as well, if he wants to hunt big game.

he's just probably one of those anti "assault rifle" folks that make hunting even more difficult here in CA

Actually I believe everyone should own their own "assault weapon." But then, just practice with it and plan to use it on the human animals it was designed and intended for rather than on big game which it is NOT designed nor intended for.

Hk, do you even think about what you opine before you put it out for everyone to consume? Do me a favor, go and check the ballistics of both, with the same bullet and let me know what your critical thinking skills tell you about both rounds. Nah, that won't happen as that involves researching and forming a conclusion based on real information and not just blurting.

Infinitely better? Once again you have no clue what you're talking about.

I'll do it for him!
Just going from data at hand the difference is minimal.
Same powder, same bullet.
06 is 100fps faster @the muzzle, 100 ft lbs more energy @ the muzzle, 1" less drop @300 when zeroed @100.

That does NOT look like an Assault Rifle.

Looks like a Kmart kit on a 10/22

Be careful guys, the next thing you know, he will be accusing you of harassing him, and suggesting that the Mods should be taking action, when in actuality your just pointing out poor reading retention, comprehension, and him putting out unthoughtful, unsupported notions and speculation as actual facts.

In a 30.06 vs .308 comparison...the differences are small.

Getting a second shot off quickly using the AR platform and minimizing the felt recoil makes the AR10 a fine shoice for hunting but not for carrying. <g>

Many guys build there own from parts manufactures, as such, if they want to spend the money, they can get the weight down to a reasonable carry weight.

Lol dang ... Forgive me for using assault rifle reference .. But hey .. DPMS and JD are two names that will cripple majority of the platforms marketed , not all though I will admit that.

It's a shame that one cannot just post something so simple as a new rig they just picked up without so many , eh hem* "immature folks" posting nonsense. If u don't like something then quite honestly take it else where (for better terms).

I actually removed the bipod , I didn't like it at all but I received this gun on a great deal. The seller put in 1800 alone just the gun itself. I got it for less than half of that due to he needed to get rid of it so it was a cash n hand deal.

And JB229 if your 10/22 can hit steal out to 1000 yards then god bless ya man
