Hey QuackAssassin, did you think your 6 month old post would create such a stir? Funny shet...

Any thread Hks is involved in seems to go this way.

Nice gun by the way, been thinking about building one for awhile.

Me too, that's why I was looking in this forum. I think an AR 10 is in my future for shooting AND hunting deer and elk.

I do not see any value in telling a kid that his sturmgewehr is going to be any good for big game.

"Disservice" comes to mind.

And 308 is clearly underpowered for elk.

270 used to be argued over as being underpowered for elk as well.

30-06 has unquestionably always been the minimum caliber for elk, and there are some who would argue that even it is underpowered.

I won't lie to kids, even though at their age they relish approval and flattery.

Clear to who? Where do you get your information? I would put a well placed 180gr 308 with the proper powder load up against any 30-06. I try to give you the benefit of the doubt on most of your ridiculous arguments but sorry no can do this time. When was the last time you took a shot a live game? Let alone with a 308, pure conjecture!

This tells me you know little about hunting and whatever you have learned whether erroneous or not was only recently gleaned.

It sounds like you are not even very familiar with the Sturmgewehr either, since you managed to let slip "well placed."

The kid is not talking about a bolt action rifle. And neither is anyone else. He is showing off his new toy, and he wants to pretend he can hunt big game with it.

MAYBE if it was a vintage M-14 he could hunt small deer. But it is not. And it definitely is no elk gun.

HKS95124 you are clueless about hunting a 308m will kill hogs and elk , I have killed both with a 243. The week prior to your commenting on this post you stated that #6 steel would work for geese .

Some kid lol. This is where the politeness I had is gone . Your just too stupid to comprehend the difference between your ass and your head. Take your ignorance off of this site and keep your inferior thoughts to yourself. And with that I have no more use or time with this thread

You're the kid with the sturmgewehr who wants to play big game hunter. You should re-evaluate everything.
