Saturday better?

$12 to get in we may have to live with. Someone has to pay for liability insurance for the event and that would cover the liability. I know we wanted free admission but we're out of options this year. THis is the last place we can try that I know of right now.

Jesse-

I think either day would be fine. Seems like this works great. A little less convenient for SD hunters than Henshaw, but overall I think this location is more central to most of SC and will draw better. Thanks for all of the hard work on this.

$12 is nothing per carload.

That's only a little over an hour drive from San Diego, depending on how you drive
<

$12 isn't bad, I'd do it. Great place for working both upland and water dogs.

Ok,
I am back, read all the posts.

I can help/run vender both placement, organize show, lay out, time line of events (this way they don’t over lap). I have helped with shows before. (I have not ran one, but my wife has????) So it won’t be my first walk in the park and I live 15 min from there, so if no one has volunteered for it yet, I will. If someone is running it I would be happy to help them out.

I need to know if you need me for this.
There is not a lot of time to put this together and I am building my new house in West Garden Gove, so between that and running my businesses. I do not have a ton of time for this, so we need to get started NOW…..

Good if we work with everyone’s schedule we will never have this thing…….

We need a date and we need to stick to it.

Besides this is for waterfowlers not upland and don’t get me wrong I hunt upland just as much as I do Ducks. But we can’t accommodate everyone. and we are running out of time.

Respect to Darius for putting out the HDHC date , However I must agree with Outdoorplay as I too dabble with the upland birds but waterfowl is my thing, There's something to be said for picking a date and sticking with it !!

I couldn;'t ge by there tonight, had to work late. I've got class tomorrow in L.A. so I may just have to call and see. Maybe stop by Weds just to make sure it will work.

Sept 24/25 is about the only weekend to pull it off. Many duckers will be in Canada starting in Oct and deer season will be opening up then too.

Damn, looks like I'll have to fly to Memphis that weekend. Have fun without me. If anything changes with my schedule I'll be there.

I went out to Prado and trained today. I talked with Janet and clarified the entry cost. It is $12.00 per adult, 12.00 Per married couple and 16 years old and under are free. Overnight camping is $10.00 dollars and there are no hook ups. There is no parking fee. You can bring in two dogs for the $12.00 entry fee. We will get the field and pond area Karstic was talking about, reserved just for our group. It is sweet ! Steve Stevens from Applewood Retrievers is about 80 % on committing to doing a Dog demonstration. He had three silver plate dogs at last years Master National in Wisconson. It is fun to watch quality labs work. We can shoot some clays. I was thinking of setting up an area to do some pattern testing. What is the big deal on these after market chokes ? Also want to test Hevi Steel and some other loads. Maybe we could order up a bunch of chukar and do some shooting-dog training. If a few people brought there BBQ's we could have Hot Dogs and Hamburgers. Venders are charged only the $12.00 entry fee. I know it is a late start but we should be able to get enough vendors for a successful event. Steve thinks the Primos guys will show, I have talked to Andy Catch from Taylor Talkers and he will have a booth. The Widgeon Whacker offered up some lanyards. I guess the question is are we going to pick a date. Saturday the 24th or Sunday the 25th. Does everybody want to do this or wait until next year. I have enough time right now to do some extra leg work like getting some vendors and raffle prizes. Jesse it is your decision. If we realize we got a late start and expectations aren't too high, It should be a success and a building block for years to come. Calfowler

The one big problem I have with it is the $12 a head to get in. We're going to loose a lot of folks that I've talked if we charge that fee. No other event charges like Sutherland Turkey Tune Up, Auto Life, Grizzly Island.

$6 maybe but IMHO the $12 fee will kill the event. With gas the way it is and now add admission folks will opt to stay home.

It's also way late for promotion and to get any sponsors to bust loose any love. THey want at least a year advance notice for shells, gear etc.

My vote is pass and start planning for next year. I hate to concede defeat but it's too much work and too little time.

Ya and If I don't hear something buy tomorrow,
I think I am just going to take this bull buy the horns........ It will take a full effort buy more then just a couple. So let hear how can and how can not help, so we can start working on much needed event.

I think it is late to get a grate showing but I do think it would be good and it would be a good stepping stone for setting up a grate one for next year.

Ever throw a party and hardly anyone showed up? Worst thing you could do is have an event that flopped. Word gets around to sponsors and potential visiters and they don't show up at the next kegger if you know what I mean. We can make it the one Soiree' to attend but this year it's too close for comfort for me. By the time the details are worked out you're looking at 3 weeks to promote.

Didn't somebody say 2 months minimum?

Caninelaw, sorry, you and 4tule mentioned it early on, I just followed other possible leads up and missed this one. I was hoping to get more help and some have helped out a lot to get some feedback going.

Was the no go at SJWA a Paulek thing? Maybe next year he won't be there. I do think it has the best potential.
