I talked to Jim MAtthews who is doing marketing for Turner's now and he said they were on board.

Walker duck club at Mystic Lake would be ideal or Prado.

Anybody got any numbers for those folks?

I have calls out but not getting any calls back.
The best bite I got so fair is at the Storm Stadium out in the parking lost.
Next to it is the back water for Lake Elsinore, I ask if we would be able to have a trap range, and she seamed fine with it. But needed to get back to me.

She is going on VK and I will be also.
I need someone to pick up the ball way I am on my Deer hunt.

That is if you guy like the location for every one?
It would have power, parking, rooms for seminars, both space, water for the dogs, testing of hunting boats and my personal favorite is, it is right in-between LA & SD right off the 15 FRW

Need to call
Community Development Department,
951-6743124 EX265
I taked to Teri Fazzio

Sorry I could not get this done before I left but there is a Deer up in the hills with my name one it.

Ok I am out

If the date is set for the weekend of 9/17 or 18 I'd be happy to volunteer to help out.

Talked with Joe Weber at San Diego City Lakes about Sutherland or San Vincente. He says we are welcome there.

Only things are,

No water contact with the dogs.
Plenty of free parking and space to set up
Shooting guns may be a problem unless we have it after the lakes close the end of SEpt.
Vender CANNOT sell anything, education, exhibition and hand out catalogs/flyers only.

We can have it at Sutherland or San Vincente. The blind draw is Oct 8th at San Vincente so that might be a captive audience already. When does SoCal duck season open? Oct 15th?

Thoughts?

Technically it should by the rules set by the feds as I understand them. It's up to DFG, but I'd bet they will open it on the 15th.

Jeese,

You can count on Ol' WW to donate some lanyards to help your cause. Not sure if I will be able to attend. Let me know when you need the goods.

The blind draw is Oct 8th at San Vincente[/b]

That usually takes about 4 hrs and is in a different location than the boat dock.

Feds have set the framework at 107 days, etc. The CA Fish and Game commission meet this friday 8/19 in SLO to set exact state parameters including youth hunt dates.

The rumors say 10/22 for BOS opener and 1/29 for season end.

Talked to Joe at Lake Henshaw today. He's goingto talk to his folks to see if we can get in there.

They have a pond to work the dogs, plenty of room, a restaurant if needed close by and we can shoot there.

Jesse,
I think Henshaw would make a good venue. They let me work my dog there, shoot launchers and etc..., they have lots of room, and their hunting program might benefit from the exposure too. People could bring their duck boats to share, lots of potential.
They probably would charge the daily use fee (hopefully not), but it would be worth it to me.

Thanks,
Mike

It's on. Sunday Oct 2nd 2005 at Lake Henshaw.

Vendor booths. If you are a vender or know a vendor that wants to attend there will be a small fee for a booth. $50 is ballpark. Call companies, decoy carvers, waterfowl artists, taxidermists, gun companies. We need to get the word out now. Boat venders also are wlecome to bring some trailers and boats to display.

Calling contest. We need someone with experience to run this, I've never done one. We need callers also so if you're on a pro staff or know one please make plans to attend. We need judges too. Pro and amateur levels all welcome.

Retriever seminar. We have the lake and a pond to do the seminars at. If you are a dog person and would like to attend to help with the seminar please email me.

Shooting lessons/seminar. We're still working this out but if you have experience with teaching shotgunning we can use you for some instruction for those that want it.

We're working on a skeet competition also.

Food. There is the restaurant there and also Frank Thioupoplus (SP) has been mentioned on catering the event.

Decoy seminar. We'd like to have a decoy seminar to show the people how to make decoys spreads and how to maintain your decoys. Anyone who would like to run the decoy paort or help would be appreciated.

CWA Youth stations. WE need volunteers to run the CWA youth activities. I'm sure we can get people to help with the kids. Let's hear it.

If anyone has any other suggestions, ideas, let's hear them. If someone can come up with a flyer text and graphic we can hang the file here for all to print off and distribute. Call it the 1st Annual SoCal Waterfowl Day.

Lake Henshaw is located 60 miles northeast of San Diego, and 100 miles south of Los Angeles on Highway 76, set below the beautiful Palomar Mountain. It is a prime fishing lake in a beautiful surrounding, a relaxing place for a recreational get-away. There are cabins for rent if you would like to make it a weekend. There is good fishing at the lake.

A spacious camping area with modern facilities and full service hookups are available on a first come, first served basis. The lake's resort store carries a basic variety of food, bait and tackle. The nearest gas station is located 12 miles from the lake.

More info about the lake here. http://www.sdfish.com/lakes/henshaw/

Nice job Jesse.

I can bring my dog and help with a demonstration. I can also demonstrate to people how not to shoot.

We'd also like to have a dog launching competition like on ESPN's Outdoor Days.

Anybody got any ideas on that? I guess we need a launch ramp and some bumpers right?
