I wouldn't charge a fee for the calling contest. I think it will be hard enough for people to nut-up in front of their hunting peers to show off what they've got in thier calling repertoire. The judges and MC should be volunteers so why the need for an entry fee? If so, what does the money go to? The prizes should be donated IMO.

Good idea Matt, we'll keep the calling contest free this year.

Can someone get this event info to Ed Zieralski of the San Diego paper so he can get it into this week's paper. I've called and emailed him with no reply. X?

It’s great to see interest in calling here in So Cal.

I wish I could help organize and judge, but I can’t make that weekend.

I have been calling out here for a few years and I would be happy to help with info regarding how they are set up, judged, scored, etc.

One suggestion I might offer is to consider a 2 man “Team Meat”. The 2 man contests are very popular right now and are held at most calling events. It is a lot easier to get on stage with a partner so you may get more people willing to stand up and give it a shot. And, you can always blame your partner if you loose.

If you are going to an open format next year, you can still hold a “team meat” and many of the “comp” callers will participate in that also.

If you have any questions that I might be able to help with, feel free to PM or E-mail me and I’ll get you my home number.

I need someone to speak up for the CWA Youth Kits that George needs to send down to us. 3 or 4 mediums size boxes of stuff for the CWA youth activites at the event. Someone who can store them and bring them to the event and volunteer to help at one station. Not all day but part of the day.

?????

We also need an event photographer and videographer. Anyone? Free love for you for covering the event.

X, I'm wating on Bulldog to get some minor changes on the flyer done. BD you out there?

Jesse, the calender is free. I've got the approval from the wife. Looks like I'll be able to do it.

If there is anyone else that wants to take pics, I'm sure more than 1 body would work.

Still need someone to store the CWA youth activity boxes and bring them to the event.

I can't believe no one is available.
