South Carolina Wildlife Television Joins MyOutdoorTV.com Network

8/29/07

Nashville, Tennessee - The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is taking the state's rivers, roads, and forests to the highway - the information superhighway, that is. Today, South Carolina Wildlife TV debuts on MyOutdoorTV.com, the world's largest internet video network for outdoor television shows, radio, video, and conservation information.

South Carolina becomes one of the first states in the nation whose wildlife agencies are offering their television series to a broader audience as part of this powerful new forum developed to promote hunting, fishing, wildlife watching, and natural resource opportunities across the country. The new affiliation with MyOutdoorTV.com will allow on-demand viewing worldwide by anyone with a high-speed internet connection.

MyOutdoorTV.com has created a special section within its site called "State Explorer," which provides video from various states and links to each state wildlife agency. The section includes weekly programming, educational videos, safety instruction, wildlife and waterways law enforcement information, and other useful materials. Hunters, fishermen, and boaters will even be able to purchase licenses through MyOutdoorTV.com or make donations to the wildlife agency.

Shows and materials provided by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will also be included and available for search by keyword on the MyOutdoorTV.com website, so that South Carolina shows will appear in results when viewers search for video on a particular topic, activity, species, or location. Users of MyOutdoorTV.com will be able to view current as well as previous episodes of South Carolina TV.

South Carolina Wildlife TV began production in 2003 with the concept of being a video version of the acclaimed South Carolina Wildlife magazine to air on public television within the state. According to host Glenn Gardner, in each show he and co-host Jean Leitner travel to South Carolina's "special places," then wrap up with a piece featuring the state's natural sounds and settings. To date, they have filmed in over 160 shooting locations.

"We're proud of our state's natural resources and excited to showcase South Carolina's natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities through this partnership with MyOutdoorTV.com," commented Gardner.

MyOutdoorTV.com will include the agency in marketing activities for the site, including TV, radio, print and online advertising, and promotions. The agency will provide a link on its website to view programming at MyOutdoorTV.com.

"As a native of South Carolina, I'm pleased that my home state has become one of the first to air its wildlife agency's show on MyOutdoorTV.com," said CEO Chris Moise, a native of Sumter. "We're very impressed with the outstanding quality of South Carolina Wildlife TV, and we're honored to be able to extend their reach to our audience."

MyOutdoorTV.com is the world's largest online video network for outdoor TV programming, currently streaming over 100 shows on the shooting sports, fishing, and boating. In addition, it hosts radio shows, outdoor videos, and the new "State Explorer" section. For more information, visit www.myoutdoortv.com.
