Great hunt Nate!
That's a very special hunt you shared with your Dad. I cherish every hunt with my Dad especially these days as he gets older.
Congrats to you both!
Great story and pleanty of pics. There were a lot of nice bucks in those pics. Thanks for sharing... so you guys going to go back to the same spot next year or try something different?
Yeah, in that flat country it's hard to get the animal up higher to get a good picture. You have to get down low with the cactus. It's also tough when you have an impatient hunter you are trying to capture good images of. I also need to find someone to photoshop out the blood spot. That is the exit wound. Unfortunately he fell down into a pool of blood so the other side was even worse.
You should have taken me up on my offer, you could have walked right up to them goats in the open.
My son and I got to within 150 yds and they never even gave us a 2nd look. We would have moved in even closer but they got spooky when they saw some other hunters a long way off. MMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I should have Breck, that probably would have helped. I tried to get you a couple capes but no dice. Dads had a big bare spot on it's neck from an old wound and was probably unusable.
Way to go Nate! Memories like that with your dad are ones that will stick with you forever, good for you for helping him out. And glad to hear the operation went well!!!! Nice pics, thanks for the posts.
Let's go whack some quail sometime soon........Mearns in December?
P.S. I hear the Albacore are on the 9 mile bank........go get em......
Well done. There's a lot more to going hunting with your pops than just hunting. Looks like you both had an awesome family hunt. Congrats! Nice goat. Way to get it done, like you always do.
Way to go on your hunt. Nice writeup. It took me so long to read it I felt like I went with you. Hunting with your Dad can be fun for sure. I cherish those hunts with mine.
